CH - officially dead

Sat Apr 30, 2005, 3:05 AM
April the 30th, 2005.
I guess this club and the project are dead now.
If one of you, however, wishes to continue this, please ask ~ceremono for permission or the password, for I still see him as the big boss (he created this club, remember).

some serious issues

Sun Sep 5, 2004, 5:26 AM
:!:September the 5th, 2004 ~Souji-Murakumo has now set up a section for us on his forums:
[link]
(scroll to the bottom)
Thanks a bunch :D

~Souji-Murakumo suggested an RPG in which all of you involved in the writing and drawing could experiment a little by playing your characters (or others) to try ideas, develop plots and such useful things. He offered to make some room for this in his forum. So whoever thinks this is a great idea, and wants to join, leave a comment! Itīs a chance to make things much easier :3

Attention all members!

Please take some minutes and think hard, are you still interested in this project? We havenīt seen half of the requested "dark character sheets" we have asked for some time ago.
I know, there are some who still are willing to keep it up, and I am very thankful that you guys donīt want to give up. But what about those who signed up for a task and just did some (sorry) sporadic work?
~yxnomei-geist sent me a note some days ago, proposing to restrict ourselves to the minimun of necessary characters, which I now have to agree to.
Since I donīt want to throw anybody out, or exclude them from the project for a reason, it is up to you to decide - are you still interested in helping to write the script, in developing your submitted character, in drawing a whole manga afterwards?

There will be individual messages sent out later on (during the following days), especially to the character designers. Those who donīt feel like they could or want to sacrifice their free time anymore should please, please say so. Nobody should be forced to work on a project that would only mean frustration to them. Donīt feel ashamed if you step down - itīs okay. Nobody will accuse anybody (and if so, then let me know, and I will show them... > :3).

Thank you for your attention.

:!: Important note:
~kovian has resigned as the leading writer due to personal reasons (which I really can understand). We now need to find either a new one, or another solution.
Please send in a note if you have an idea, or want to volunteer. Please keep in mind that it is a task with responsibility connected to it.

All character designers, please go and read this note written by ~kovian. Itīs important!

To all chara designers: If you have the time, please submit some chara sheets of your character(s) and send us a note with the links. Those sheets will help the artists to 'get used to' each figure appearing in the manga. Thanks in advance.

If youīre an artist and have nothing to do, please take a look at this entry. Thanks in advance.

Announcement
The character submission is closed. Thanks for the many good charas everyone. Now this leads us to the next step of the project.

Step one of our project gets more and more input. Go visit the concept page at times

General information about the Manga Project can be found here

Info for writers and designers: Chara list (now open again for additional pictures of your characters. But no entirely new charas, please).

Since the character submission time is over, it´s our writer´s turn.
Now it´s in your hands to create a good storyline.
If there´s anything you need to clarify, or if you have something to support ~ kovian and the other writer´s staff, or if one of you feels like there is a character that needs to get modified etc., feel free to communicate through comments below.

Note: It´s best if the story is written in script format. A short description of action and settings (to help our background designers), and - preferably - full dialouges.
Make plans on what typefaces to use (certain ones for certain characters to make a differece between them, or different typefaces for different languages), and what kind of writing* (eg. italic for thoughts or whispered words, bold for shouts etc.)

*Yes, that explanation sucks. But please don´t hang me for it, since English is not my native tongue.

Anyway, take your time to develop a plotline. There isn´t a deadline yet, so don´t feel pushed or pestered. And don´t overwork yourselves. We have enough time  And remember - ~kovian is the main writer, so please try to support him as much as you can. Thank you.

current ideas:

1. ~Kaysa proposed the following:
Writers, you could communicate through MSN and other programs. Please contact her at times, for she has some ideas (and the will to work on this project. Hey, isn´t there anybody else?)

2. ~Souji-Murakumo : (update) We have some possible protagonists and some party members.
We could need one or two additional party members. But it shouldn´t be too large, this group.

What we still need is an explicit villain (preferably with a reason for being evil) and his/her people - guards, combatants, servants, whatever. We also lack a lot of supernumeraries - relatives of any kind, sidekicks, townspeople, maybe an opposotional kingdom etc. ...overall every necessary guy and gal.

3. ~yxnomei-geist shared some good ideas on how to connect all characters with one storyline and added a proposal regarding some characters as well.
And ~Kaysa has added something to Vadim´ s description

4. Proposals for the story´s beginning have been added. Credit goes to ~kovian and ~Kaysa

5. Another proposal regarding the composition of characters and storyline by ~yxnomei-geist
Thanks a lot.

6. Many thanks to ~thehuntress for submitting a good idea on how to divide the script for latter use (since each artist will get one part to work with). Though we are still on an early stage, it could be useful to work with this concept of her´s:
The manga should be divided into chapters, and each features different character´s backgrounds, relationships etc.
Of course, this is a suggestion. But one good to work with

:new: 7. Last but not least, a résumé of ~ yxnomei-geist's concepts. Thank you very much.

So, as long as we´re waiting for the script, there´s some spare time which can be used for new discussions, regarding concepts for dividing the script into those parts each artists will turn into an actual manga page.

It would be quite efficient if each artist would get a whole chapter to work on. This way, there won´t be any confusion and delay - as it could occur if all artists divide the whole script into 'pages' (please keep in mind that script pages aren´t equal to manga pages), working one after another. If just one misses the deadline, everybody else would have to wait.
Working on chapter simultaneously, the whole task wouldn´t only be accomplished much faster, but there wouldn´t be style confusion as well. Please consider that - a reader who's confronted with different styles each page - interest would diminish, just because of the 'chaos'.
Since we can´t avoid a certain 'patchwork-look' (and since I can´t demand style adaptation), we could reduce this minor flaw to a minimum by having not only a division of chapters (and plotline), but a difference of styles as well, marking the end of a phase.

Please tell me what you think, everyone. Is that fine with you? Or do you have a better suggestion? Please don´ t just say 'no, it´s bad'; be so kind and give some reasons which evaluate your/devaluate the current proposal
Thanks for reading.
